Akakami Shrine, located in Akita Prefecture, is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of lightning and thunder, known as Akakami-no-kami. The shrine's five-story main hall, or gaien, is adorned with vibrant vermilion lacquerwork and houses the enshrined kami.
