赤神神社五社堂 遥拝殿

Akita

Akakami Shrine, located in Akita Prefecture, is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of lightning and thunder, known as Akakami-no-kami. The shrine's five-story main hall, or gaien, is adorned with vibrant vermilion lacquerwork and houses the enshrined kami. Visitors can pray for good weather, prosperity, and protection from lightning during the annual Akakami Shrine Festival, which takes place in June. The shrine's architecture reflects its origins as a rural temple, blended with traditional Shinto elements.
