Located in the heart of Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, Naitō-dai-gū Tennōsha is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess of mercy and wealth. Naitō-dai-gū Tennōsha is believed to be the site where the famous Japanese legend of ' Urashima Taro' is connected, with the shrine's main hall said to resemble the shape of a boat from which Taro sailed to the underwater kingdom of Ryujin.

The current structure dates back to the Meiji period (1868-1912), although the site has been occupied by religious institutions since the Heian period (794-1185).
