Three Deities Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the three deities Hachiman, Okuninushi, and Susanoo. Located in Gunma Prefecture, it is one of Japan's oldest shrines, dating back to the Nara period (710-794 CE). To make a meaningful offering, bring a box of rice balls called 'chankonabe', a specialty of the shrine, and leave them at the designated area.
文化的背景
The shrine is famous for its unique tradition of using 'shinmei-iri' to purify visitors before they approach the main hall. Visitors must walk around the outside of the shrine three times while bowing to cleanse themselves of impurities.

Built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) in honor of the three deities who were believed to have created Japan's first emperor, Jimmu.
