鹿島神社

Miyagi

Kamishima Shrine, located in the northern prefecture of Miyagi, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of agriculture and prosperity, Ryujin. The shrine is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage and traditional architecture, with a history dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868).

歴史

The shrine was originally built in 1681 by the local daimyo, Date Masamune, as a temple dedicated to Ryujin.
