Akita

The Ōdai Ryūjinsha Shrine, located in Akita Prefecture, is dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu and the three stars of the Big Dipper. The shrine's architecture reflects its coastal location, with a prominent torii gate and a vermillion-colored main hall. Its history dates back to 1680, when it was established by daimyo (feudal lord) Hachiman Ryūjin, who is also the primary kami enshrined at the shrine.
