Maratsuma Shrine, located in Akita Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto god of the sea and fertility, Ryujin, as well as the god of agriculture, Susanoo-no-Mikoto. The shrine's architecture reflects its role as a key stopover for fishermen and traders along the Akita coast. The shrine's main hall was rebuilt in 1706 during the Edo period, featuring a distinctive roof design characteristic of the region.
