大権現碑

Takahashi Honji Shrine, also known as Daisen Inari Shrine, is a Shinto shrine in Akita Prefecture dedicated to the deity of rice and prosperity. The shrine's name, Daisen Inari, translates to 'Great Rice Inari' or 'The Great God of Rice'. According to local legend, the shrine was founded by the legendary warrior Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who was said to have performed a ritual at the site to ensure victory in battle.

文化的背景

As part of its traditional rituals, the shrine performs a 'Saijo-sai' festival in October to celebrate the harvest season and ensure good fortune for the community. The shrine's iconic torii gate is adorned with vermilion lacquer and features eight large pillars, symbolizing the eight virtues of Buddhism.

The shrine was rebuilt after the 1976 Akita earthquake.
