八幡神社

Miyagi

Located in the town of Kesennuma, Eight-Horned Shrine is dedicated to Amaterasu Ōmikami, the Shinto sun goddess and a major deity in the Japanese pantheon. The shrine's eight vermilion torii gates are said to represent the eight horns of the mythical creature Ryūjin, making it one of Japan's most unique shrines. The shrine complex features a wooden pagoda, stone lanterns, and intricately carved wooden beams.
