Located in the heart of Tokushima, Shōgaku-ji Temple is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu Ōmikami and the god of wisdom, Sugawara no Michizane. Its main hall, the Hondo, features a striking vermillion roof and a wooden stage for traditional performances.
