文化的背景

Sakurajima Inari Shrine is often visited during cherry blossom season ( late March to early April) and is associated with the Shinto mythology of the god of rice, Inari Okami. The shrine also hosts an annual spring festival (Matsuri), featuring traditional performances and food stalls.

歴史

The shrine was built in 1869 by a samurai who had fallen in love with a geisha from Hikone.
