Resha-gi Jinja, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu in Shizuoka Prefecture, is one of Japan's oldest and most revered shrines. Located near the coast, the shrine is believed to be connected to the legend of the sun goddess who descended from heaven to earth on the island of Honshu.

文化的背景

The shrine was founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), but its current structure dates back to the Edo period (1603-1867 CE).
