八幡神社

Miyagi

Located in the town of Yamagata, eight miles north of Sendai, Eight Horses Temple Shrine is one of Japan's oldest Shinto shrines dedicated to the god of war and the sea, Hachiman. Founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE), it has a long history dating back over 1,300 years. Visitors can see beautiful examples of Edo period architecture and enjoy stunning views of Matsushima Bay.
