Kawa-no-Daikannon-ji, also known as Kawa-shita Kami no-miya, is a Shinto shrine located in the heart of Kyoto's historic center. Dedicated to the god of the river and water, it is believed to have been founded in 711 CE during the Nara period. The shrine's architecture reflects the Heian style, with a five-story pagoda and a vermilion torii gate.
