Tadayu Shrine, located in the Tatsuno district of Hyogo Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto god of fire and blacksmiths, the Sun Goddess Amaterasu's twin, Susanoo, also known as and , or in Japanese. The shrine is one of few shrines dedicated to a deity other than the Imperial Family. It is believed that the shrine was built by the ancient inhabitants of the Tatsuno area, who were skilled blacksmiths and craftsmen.
