Located in Hyogo Prefecture, Nagata Hachiman Shrine is a Shinto temple dedicated to the god of war and protector of the dead. Its main hall features a distinctive curved roof and ornate wooden decorations, typical of Kamakura-period architecture. The shrine is said to be built on an ancient battlefield where Emperor Jinmu defeated his rival, Yoriyasu. Visitors can still see the remains of a stone wall that runs along the main path.
