鹿島御児神社

Miyagi

Kami Island Shrine, located in Miyagi Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto deity of rice and fertility, Ōkuninushi. Founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), this shrine's primary kami, Ōkuninushi, is also revered for its role in bringing prosperity and good fortune to farmers and fishermen.

歴史

The shrine was rebuilt after being destroyed by a fire in 1869.
