日吉神社

Located in Akita Prefecture, Dayo-jinja Shrine is dedicated to the deity of agriculture and fertility, Sugawara no Michiie, as well as to the god of learning and literature, En no Gyoji. The shrine is one of the oldest temples in Japan, dating back to 718 CE, during the Nara period. Its architecture reflects a mix of Nara and Kamakura styles, with a distinctive shinden-zukuri design. Visitors can experience the serene atmosphere of the shrine's gardens and take part in traditional festivals such as the Dayo Shrine Festival held annually in September.
