Located in Ishikawa Prefecture, Hachiman Shrine is dedicated to the Shinto deity Hachiman, often associated with war, travel, and communication. Established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), it was originally a small shrine that served as an important stopping point for travelers on the ancient Nakasendo road.
