Gamo-gawa Shrine in Akita Prefecture is dedicated to the deity of the Gamo River and its surrounding mountains. The shrine's architecture reflects the traditional style of Tohoku region, with a wooden torii gate and a large vermillion lantern. Founded during the Heian period (794-1185), it has been an important Shinto shrine for over 900 years.
