三島神社

Saitama

Located in the town of Sayama, Saitama Prefecture, San'ichi Island Shrine is one of Japan's oldest shrines dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE), it has been an important Shinto site for over 1,200 years. The shrine's main hall and a part of the outer shrine buildings were destroyed by fire in 1968, but they have since been rebuilt. Today, visitors can still experience the serene atmosphere and historic charm of this ancient shrine.
