文化的背景

As a symbol of good luck and prosperity, the Eight-Horse Temple Shrine is famous for its unique yurei (ghost) figure, a ceramic horse with glowing eyes that is displayed on special occasions. The shrine is also connected to the legend of the Tachibana family, who were believed to be descendants of Hachiman.

歴史

The shrine was rebuilt in 1615 after a fire destroyed the original structure, during the Edo period (1603-1868 CE).
