Shikigami の物語
In the depths of autumn's twilight, when cypress and maple leaves rustled in the faint breeze, Onmyōji Akira stood before his sacred scrolls. He had been warned of an impending curse, one that would snuff out the candlelight of a young noble's family. The Onmyōji's eyes burned with determination as he called upon his trusted Shikigami.
A delicate breeze stirred, carrying with it the whispers of forgotten ancestors and ancient wisdom. From within the scroll's intricately painted borders, a ghostly figure began to take shape. A wispy thing, like a moth's wing, yet imbued with an air of unyielding purpose. This was Kaito, Akira's most skilled Shikigami.
"Summoned one," Akira's voice whispered through the silence, "your master's will is clear: protect this family from darkness and uncover the source of the curse."
Kaito's form coalesced into a humanoid silhouette, its features indistinct, yet radiating an ethereal glow. With a nod, it vanished as suddenly as it appeared, leaving behind only the faintest hint of incense smoke.
The night air grew heavier with anticipation as Kaito wandered through the winding streets of Kyoto. It drifted past lantern-lit bridges and silent temples, sensing the city's hidden currents. Within the noble family's estate, whispers spoke of a mysterious illness afflicting their young daughter, Emiko.
Kaito's presence stirred the shadows within Emiko's chambers. A shadowy form took shape beside her bed, where it gently caressed the sleeping child's brow with an icy touch. As the Shikigami's essence intertwined with Emiko's own vital force, visions began to unfold – fragmented scenes of a dark ritual, performed under the light of the gibbous moon.
Kaito conveyed these images back to Akira through the sacred bond they shared. Together, they unraveled the threads of the curse: a rival Onmyōji, driven by ambition and malice, had called upon malevolent spirits to shroud Emiko in an unholy darkness.
As the moon climbed higher, casting long shadows across the city, Akira and Kaito devised a plan. Under cover of night's veil, they guided Emiko through the forgotten ways of her ancestors, kindling within her a spark of inner strength that would shield her from the coming darkness.
Within the abandoned shrine at the edge of town, where ancient trees creaked in harmony with the wind, the rival Onmyōji and his summoned spirits awaited. Their presence was like a dark stain spreading through the night air – cold, calculating, and devoid of compassion. Kaito materialized as a shimmering paper doll, its form reflected in the moon's silver glow.
As Emiko faced the curse head-on, her inner light guiding her steps, Kaito became one with the darkness itself. For an instant, it appeared as a swirling vortex, drawing the malevolent energies into a whirlpool of silence and lightlessness – a moment of pure balance between human will and supernatural forces.
The rival Onmyōji's curse dissipated like autumn leaves scattered by a morning breeze. Emiko's family was saved, and Akira's bond with Kaito grew stronger still. The Shikigami vanished into the night as silently as it had appeared, its task complete, yet forever bound to its master's will – a guardian of balance in a world where human intentions intertwined with the mystical threads of the universe.
