打木濱神社

Ishikawa

Located in the charming town of Komatsu, Shotenji Temple, also known as Hitotogami Shrine or Tobi-higashi Shrine, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the sea and storms, Kumano Okami, as well as Inari Okappi. The shrine's main hall was built in 1751 during the Edo period and features a unique wooden roof with overlapping tiles. According to local legend, a giant wave crashed against the shore, washing away the old shrine and leaving only the remains of the wooden structure intact. Today, visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and scenic views of the Pacific Ocean while paying their respects to the gods.
