Sixto, a coastal town in Osaka Prefecture, is home to the Eightfold Deity Shrine (Hachiman-gu), one of Japan's oldest and most revered Shinto shrines dedicated to the god Hachiman, kami of war and patron deity of many Japanese emperors. The shrine was established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and is famous for its beautiful architecture and serene gardens.
