子宝神社

Hokkaido

Located in the heart of Hokkaido, Subarubutsu-shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of fertility and prosperity. The shrine's architecture reflects its historical significance as an important stopover for travelers and traders along the old trade route known as the 'Kusatsu-yuzen'. Built during the Edo period, the shrine's traditional wooden structure features a distinctive hippon (main hall) with a striking roof slope. Visitors can still see remnants of ancient rituals, such as the remnants of the original 7th-century torii gate. Subarubutsu-shrine is often visited by locals and tourists alike seeking blessings for good health, prosperity, and safe passage.
