Located in the town of Minamisanriku, Miyagi Prefecture, Dayohikami Shrine is a Shinto shrine that was originally built to protect the local fishermen and their boats from natural disasters. The shrine's main deity is Otohime, the goddess of the sea, as well as several other kami including the deities of the forest, mountains, and rivers in the area.

Dayohikami Shrine is particularly famous for its annual festivals, including the 'Matsuri no Hi' festival in August, during which visitors can see a procession of boats and floats decorated with seaweed and other natural materials.
歴史
The shrine was rebuilt after being destroyed by a tsunami in 1933.
