Residences of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu are said to be located in the heavens, and those who reside below her are known as 'Tatara'. According to legend, the deity believed to reside at this shrine is Takamimusubi Okami, a kami associated with the Imperial family. Visitors can pray for good luck, prosperity, and protection by offering incense sticks and rice balls.
