Toshogu-ji Shrine, located in the town of Kamakura, was originally built as a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deified spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu, but not much is known about御嶽神社. However, it is possible that this shrine was originally named after its location on a hill (御嶽), and was enshrined with local kami.

To fully appreciate the shrine's tranquil atmosphere, visit during the cherry blossom season or autumn foliage, when the surrounding hills are painted with vibrant colors.
文化的背景
The Shinto tradition in Ibaraki Prefecture has a long history, but little information is available about御嶽神社. It is possible that this shrine was originally associated with the worship of the kami of fertility and agriculture, as many shrines in rural Japan are dedicated to these deities.
