This shrine is dedicated to the god of good luck and prosperity, Sakaharu-Okami, in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Founded during the Sengoku period, it is known for its distinctive vermilion torii gate and sacred Shizugatake lake. This shrine is famous for its association with the 'hidden cherry blossom' (hira-kakari) tradition. According to legend, a goddess once hid behind a cherry blossom branch at this very spot, where it would bloom early every year. Locals still celebrate the festival of Hira-zuka Matsuri in April, marking the blooming of the sacred cherry blossoms.
