文化的背景
The shrine is said to be associated with the Shiroto no Okami (White Deer Spirit), a powerful kami believed to have created a white deer that appeared only once in every generation. During the autumn festival, a statue of the White Deer is displayed along with other autumnal decorations.

The shrine was built during the Edo period (1603-1867), making it one of the oldest shrines in Niigata Prefecture.
