Located in the heart of Boso Peninsula, Narita, Chiba Prefecture's famous Torii Gate is actually located at the Iseki Shinyo Shrine. This is not directly associated with 熊野神社 but it shares similar regional kami and shrines. The current shrine was founded in 1881 to honor the enshrined deity Ōkami-daimyōjin, which translates to 'Great God of Beasts' or 'Great Kami of the Forest'.Ōkami-daimyōjin is a Shinto deity associated with animals, particularly bears and deer. The shrine is dedicated to protecting travelers and providing good luck for those visiting the nearby Narita Airport. Visitors can experience a serene atmosphere surrounded by lush forests, while also being able to take part in local festivals such as Tanabata.
