小平神社

Hokkaido

Located in the heart of rural Hokkaido, 小平神社 is a small Shinto shrine dedicated to the protection of travelers and traders. The shrine's history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE), during which it served as an important stopover for merchants traversing the island. Today, visitors can still see remnants of the shrine's traditional architecture, including its wooden torii gate and intricately carved wooden pillars.
