金毘羅宮

Hyogo

The Kinbu no Miyashiro Shrine in Hyogo Prefecture is dedicated to the Shinto god of thunder, Kinpu, and the Japanese god of war, Minakuchi-no-Kami. This shrine was built during the Edo period (1603-1868) and features a unique architectural style known as 'yabutsu-in' or 'rock-in,' where a large stone is integrated into the structure of the shrine. Visitors can view the Kinpu statue on display, while also enjoying traditional Japanese festivals such as the Sanja Matsuri in March.
