Kiyomizu-dera's cousin, the Bonten in Osaka's Osaka Castle Park is dedicated to a more obscure Shinto deity, but shares many architectural similarities with its famous counterpart. This temple is part of the Osakajo Shrine precincts and houses an impressive 15th-century wooden gate and several shrines. Visitors can also see the remains of the Kiyomizu-dera's founder's house from the 16th century.
