文化的背景

White Mountain Shrine is famous for its association with the legendary white deer of Niigata, said to bring good luck to those who see it. The shrine also holds an annual autumn leaf festival to honor the changing colors of the surrounding forests.

歴史

Founded in 1556 by the Matsumoto clan during the Sengoku period as a humble temple. Renovated and re-established as Shinto shrine in the late Edo period.
