Ave Tanba Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the heart of Kyoto, dedicated to the deity Ame no Yakamochi, the god of rice and fertility. The shrine's history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE), with its main hall constructed during the Kamakura period (1185-1333 CE). The shrine is renowned for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture. Ave Tanba Shrine is also famous for being the final resting place of the legendary Japanese samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who died in 1189 CE.
