生田坊

Yamagata

Born out of the life and works of a Buddhist priest who converted to Shintoism, Shishido Tadatsugu, the life sized wooden statue in front of the shrine depicts him meditating while surrounded by nature. The shrine is famous for its impressive stone lanterns which provide light even on cloudy days.
