八幡神社

Located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the storm god Susanoo-no-Mikoto and the wind god Inazuma-no-Kami. The shrine's name 'Hachimantai' refers to its association with the eight Horseshoe Shells (hachi-manta) said to have been brought by Susanoo-no-Mikoto from the sea. The shrine complex features traditional Shinto architecture and is a popular tourist destination, especially during the annual Hachiman Matsuri festival.
