八幡神社

Miyagi

Located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture,八幡神社 is one of Japan's oldest and most revered Shinto shrines. Dedicated to the god Susanoo, brother of the sun goddess Amaterasu, the shrine is famous for its stunning architecture and historic significance. Built during the Nara period (710-794 CE), the shrine has undergone numerous renovations over the centuries, with notable restorations taking place during the Heian and Edo periods.
