愛宕神社 is a Shinto shrine located in Saitama Prefecture, dedicated to the kami Amaterasu Omikami, the goddess of the sun and the moon. The shrine's architecture reflects its origins as a sacred site for Emperor Nintoku during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). The shrine's main hall is a typical example of Heian-style shrine buildings, featuring a curved eaves and a hipped roof. In 1922, the shrine was rebuilt using traditional materials in a Kamakura-style, with the current torii gate and main hall constructed during this period.
