This shrine in Kochi Prefecture is dedicated to the spirit of Prince Sawara (早良親王), the younger brother of Emperor Kammu who died in exile in 785 CE after being falsely accused of assassination. As a goryō shrine, it was established to appease his vengeful spirit and transform his curse into protective blessings for the community. Visitors come here to pray for justice, protection from false accusations, and to seek the prince's powerful intervention in matters requiring vindication or spiritual purification.
