文化的背景

Eshima Matsushima Shrine is believed to be associated with the myth of Enmei, who was said to have created the mountains and rivers of Japan. The shrine's unique landscape is also said to represent the mythical Eshima Mountains, which are thought to resemble a giant horse or stag. During the spring equinox festival (March 20-21), visitors can witness the ritual purification ceremony, known as 'shinjin-kyo', where devotees purify their bodies and spirits.
