上菅田八幡神社

Located in the city of Kamakura, above-mentioned Ueguchi district, in Kanagawa Prefecture, is Upper Sugatada Hachiman Shrine, a Shinto temple dedicated to the deities of war and protection. The shrine is renowned for its historic role as the final resting place of Emperor Keikō, who passed away in 1065 AD. Dedicated solely to the deity of Hachiman, it is said to have been an important center during the Kamakura period. Various festivals and ceremonies are held here throughout the year.
