Located in the Sapporo district of Sapporo, Aikinai Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of rice and fertility in Hokkaido. The shrine's architecture is typical of Japanese Shinto shrines, with a tatami-matted main hall and several smaller shrines. According to local legend, the shrine was originally built as a sacred site for the Ainu people before being rebuilt by the Japanese in 1873.
