参拝のヒント

To fully appreciate the beauty of Rayushina Shrine, visit during cherry blossom season (late March to early April), when the surrounding gardens are at their most stunning.

文化的背景

As Raijin is associated with thunder and lightning, it is said that the shrine's sound of drums and cymbals performed by the shrine's musicians can ward off evil spirits. Additionally, the shrine's grounds are famous for its beautiful weeping cherry blossoms (some varieties bloom as early as late March), which are a testament to Japan's unique cultural exchange with China during the Edo period.

歴史

The current main hall of Rayushina Shrine was built in 1846, but the shrine itself has been in existence since 1694.
