Aomori

Located in the city of Aomori, Godai-jinja Shrine, also known as Aomori-jinja, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the sea and earthquakes. The shrine's main hall is the San no Ichi-den, featuring a unique San No Ichi style architecture that dates back to the Heian period. Visitors can experience the shrine's tranquil atmosphere and enjoy stunning views of Aomori Bay.

文化的背景

Godai-jinja Shrine is also famous for its unique festival called 'Aomori Oshogatsu' which takes place from December 28th to January 4th. The shrine is said to be visited by the god of the sea, Tsukuyomi-no-kami, and is believed to bring good luck in fishing and maritime endeavors.

Founded in 1872 as a successor to the former Shinno Shrine.
