参拝のヒント

To fully appreciate the shrine's beauty, visit during cherry blossom season or autumn foliage when the surrounding mountains are ablaze with color.

文化的背景

Jōgan-ji Temple is not directly affiliated with the shrine, but its proximity has led to a unique blend of Buddhist and Shinto traditions. The shrine's kami are believed to be related to those worshipped at nearby Otawara-michi no yahara no jinja.

歴史

The current structure dates back to the 17th century, but archaeological findings suggest human habitation in the area dating back to the Jomon period (14,000-300 BCE).
