Located in the scenic town of Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Shishido Shrine is one of Japan's most northerly Shinto shrines. Dedicated to Susanoo-no-Mikoto, a storm god and brother of Amaterasu, it is said to be the birthplace of the island of Hokkaido.
