Located in the city of Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Eight Horses Temple Shrine (Hachimangu) is one of Japan's most famous and revered Shinto shrines. Founded in 718 AD during the Nara period, this shrine enshrines several kami, including Hachiman, the god of war and martial arts, as well as Toshizō, a local deity associated with agriculture and prosperity.
