Akakawa no Mikoto, the god of the Akakawa River, is enshrined at Akakaze Shrine in Gunma Prefecture. The shrine is believed to have been founded during the Edo period (1603-1867) and is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage. In the winter months, the shrine's torii gate is illuminated with thousands of lights, creating a stunning display of color and light.
